I’m a Socal girl and San Diego has been my home for over 10 years! Since I’m basically a local, I wanted to share some of my top Insta-worthy photo spots with you. Get ready to scroll & pin. So without further ado…
PS – I’m grouping them by location so it’s easier to navigate and hit them all at once.
Chula Vista
South Bay Metal Bikes: Fair warning, there isn’t much nearby to see or do but if you are looking for the cutest IG picture it’s worth the drive. These colorful bikes are right off the 5 freeway on Frontage Road in Chula Vista about a block away from the Salt Mines. I mean.. how stinking cute!
Little Italy/Downtown
Queenstown Public House: I’m obsessed with the decor at this restaurant, it’s so cozy and quaint. And if you are looking for an Insta-worthy background without stepping foot in the restaurant look no further, they have a large sign on the side of the building that is a show stopper.
The Headquaters at Seaport Village: The city view here at night is stunning! I can’t get over how the city lights up the sky. I suggest to take pictures right outside closest to the parking lot between The Headquarters & Seaport Village. Bonus: There is a mural painting by Kelsey Montague of angel wings just around the corner from Puesto.
Balboa Park: There are seriously so many picture perfect spots to capture an IG moment. I’ll share just a few of my favorites. The Rose Garden, take the bridge across Park Blvd. for the most romantic setting. Pacific Relations Cottages, here you’ll find a colorful walkway that will make your pictures pop. The California Tower showcases the most beautiful architecture in the park. Lastly, the Botanical Garden Pond, it’s likely the most sought out place to take photos, it’s so dreamy.
North Park
Pigment: The cutest local shop with the most adorable pink striped wall outside. There is also a boho swig inside along with a wall full of succulents. This place is screams ‘Take pictures of me, please!’
Holy Matcha: This might be my favorite place on this entire list. It’s the perfect place to brighten your day and your Instagram feed. The palm leaf wallpaper and mocha donuts will keep you coming back!
Communal Coffee: This coffee shop is so stinking cute from the wall art outside to shopping indoors. It’s not only an Insta-worthy spot but functional, you can actually get some work done while feeling inspired. Don’t forget to try to lavender latte, delicious!
Mission Valley
Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala: This is a hidden gem and probably one of my favorite places to get some Insta-worthy photos. What I especially love about this location is you can get different backgrounds all in one place. Not only is the Mission beautiful, but it’s also apart of our San Diego history as the first of twenty one California Missions.
Ocean Beach
Sunset Cliffs: This is not only the best spot in town to catch the sunset but I often times just take a stroll around the neighborhood and find the cutest houses with lots of character and beautiful landscaping that are sure to brighten up my feed. Not to mention there are tons of palm trees to make a blogger’s dream come true!
Carlsbad
The Flower Fields: This place is absolutely breathtaking. You’ll see rows and rows of colorful lush flowers while taking in the ocean breeze. I’d highly recommend making a day out of your visit. You can read more about my experience visiting the flower fields last spring here.
I’m so happy to share my list of Insta-worth places in San Diego with you! Some of these are hidden gems and definitely off the beaten path for most while others are just too cute not to re-share.
