Howdy, ya’ll! I’ve been home about a month and I’m already planning my second trip to Nashville. It’s country girl’s dream! Lot’s of live music, southern cooking, great cocktails, and shopping.
If you are planning an upcoming trip (after quarentine season, of course) to Nashville or if it’s high on your bucket list you’ll want to know the best neighborhoods to visit, things to do, along with places to eat, drink, and shop while you’re there.
Neighborhoods
The Gulch – This is upscale Nashville known for its chic hotels, trendy brunch spots, high end fashion boutiques, and infamous street art like the What Lifts You angel wings.
East Nashville – This neighborhood known for it’s street art, upbeat bars and trendy fine-dining resturants and shops. There is much less foot traffic in this quaint neighborhood but definitely worth the visit.
Hillsboro – This is an up and coming college area with cozy cafes, hip eateries and cocktail bars.
Downtown – If you are looking to partaaaay, this is your spot! It’s a hub for the country music scene. It has engertic Honky Tonks on every corner with live music serving cold drinks ALL day long.
Food
Hatti B’s – Famous for their chicken. This is a fast casual spot that’s sure to have a line around the building, but definitely worth the wait. I had a chicken sandwhich with mac & cheese and fries. Oh my lawd, delicious!
Biscuit Love – This was probably my favorite meal while visiting. Southern food at it’s finest. I had the Eat Nasty which was heaven on earth! A homemade biscut, eggs, fried chicken cheddar cheese and gravy.
Five Daughters Bakery – Holy moly! I may just make a trip back for these donuts alone. I had the maple bacon donut and it was seriously the best donut I’ve had in my life. I was actually surprised to learn this bakery specializes in cronuts (crossiants shapped like a donut). They take 4 days to make and filled with heavenly cream. Another fun fact about this bakery is they donate leftover donuts to local shelters.
BarTaco – These tacos are probably the closest thing to So Cal tacos in Nashville. Not only is the food delicious but this place has the cutest asthetic, and killer margaritas. It will definitely not dissapoint.
Pinewood Social – Great brunch spot with amazing coffee & craft cocktails. If you have some extra time you can grab a lane and bowl!
Drinks
FGL House – Probably one the best rooftop bars in downtown. It was spacious, had amazing live music (along with every other bar) and a great vibe.
Jason Aldean’s Kitchen & Rooftop Bar – This is where the party’s at. The line each night was wrapped around the building. The crowd here knows how to get rowdy!
Ole Red (Blake Shelton’s Bar) – This place by far had the best sound quality and live music in town. I was a regular throughout the weekend.
Luke’s 32 Bridge – I had no idea Luke was a bit bougie, it was definiely the most upscale bar on the strip. I’d even say a bit fancy for us country girls but the live music was unreal.
Things To Do
Definitely book yourself on a party bus (hot tub, tractor or monster truck). The possibilities for party buses are endless and so much fun! It’s a great way to see city and meet others traveling along the way.
Moonshine Tasting – We stopped in to Ole Smoky and this restaurant/tasting room was amazing!
Grand Ole Opry – We had to visit this historic country music venue. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic we were unable to catch a show here but it was still beautiful to see the grounds and well worth drive.
Shopping + Instagramable Places
Draper James – Reese Witherspoon definitely hit the mark with the wall alongside her store Draper James. It’s got a preppy flare and is so pretty, the wall art + shop definitely matches her aesthetic.
We Believe in Nashville – This mural is across the alley way from Draper James. You can kill two birds with one stone by stopping here.
Looking Pretty Music City – Just a block away from Draper James is another photo worthy music themed street art along side of the Madewell store.
Kittenish – This upscale boutique was the stinking cutest! Not only was everything in the shop IG worthy but Jessie James Decker has two photo worthy spots; the cutest pink balloon mural and a large vintage mirror to snap a few selfies. I definitely came home with some goodies from this boutique!
What Lifts You Wings – Likely the most popular mural in the Gulch and possibly Nashville. Its very impressive and a must see if you’re in the neighborhood. Be warned you may wait a while to snap a picture.
Five Daughters Bakery – The I love Donuts wall art is so stinking cute! You’ll get a sweet treat & a great photo op all under one roof.
Hampton Social Club – This was my absolute favorite Instagramable place in Nashville. There is a wall of pink and white roses with a sign that reads Hey there Nashville! It’s at the entrance to a popular brunch spot the Hampton Social Club. Honestly, these pictures don’t do it justice. It’s so dreamy in person!
Amelia’s Flower Truck – By far the cutest flower situation I’ve ever seen. There are three flower trucks all over the city, definitely be sure to track one down for the most gorgeous photos. I just so happened to find this beaut outside the Graduate hotel in Midtown Nashville.
Graduate Hotel – Every inch of this hotel is IG worthy. They decor is stunning, they have auditorium seating made up of geoprint couches with pop culture wall paper behind. There was a beautiful coffee bar with the most decedent chandelier and some neon light signs to really tie in the modern yet vintage vibe.
John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge – This honestly has the best view of downtown Nashville. It’s the perfect place to catch the sunset and get the best city view!
Vici Dolls – This is a new boutique in the gulch. I often find myself shopping online so it was great to visit a store and see everything come to life. They had great customer service and the cutest branded wall to snap a pic!
Happy traveling!!! Be sure to let me know if you’ve visited Nashville and have any other recommendations for my next trip.
Nashville you hold a special place in my heart. I cannot wait to make a second trip to this beautiful city!
XOXO,
Marissa
